I haven’t posted for a few weeks, I know, how have you coped? We’ve had one of those fun summers where everyone is ill, constantly, repeatedly, occasionally with a day or two between. We had the same last year but much much worse, so I’m not complaining. Much.
We also seem to have a million DIY projects going on at the moment, the combination of not touching anything for eighteen months as we had two tiny children, plus the house being a lot tidier, meant that jobs were now staring at us, and as I’m not working we’re (my long suffering husband) doing as much as we can ourselves.
I’d really enjoyed the decluttering posts and that had a natural end, so I was thinking about where to take this. I definitely have some ideas about saving money on food shopping, so that will probably the next one.
Also I’m taking a career break break! After five months of watching Homes under the Hammer, a very very flexible part time opportunity has presented itself, so I’m going to be doing a bit of consultancy work one day a week while the kids are at nursery. I can’t pretend I wasn’t a little hesitant to replace my day off with work but a) it’s completely flexible so I won’t miss out on time with the kids b) it gives me consultancy experience c) it’s a short term contract so we can see how it works for everyone.
So I will definitely be taking a blogging break while I work as I have no desire to add any extra pressure to my week, have I mentioned how lazy I am? I’ll probably still mess about on Instagram (@careerspacer) to feed general vanity. So stay tuned for some food shopping saving inspo, then you’re off the hook ’til the new year!
